Shipments are an essential unit of stock management. They move a quantity of a product between two locations. Primarily, for most organisations, this will be between a supplier and the organisation's warehouse/location, and between the organisation's warehouse/location and a customer. In some cases, when organisations have multiple warehouses or locations, shipments between warehouses are likely to occur. It is rare that items would be tracked across two aritrary addresses.

The shipment editor starts by allowing you to input where from and where to. These can be either addresses or locations. Note that if a location is selected, the address will be ignored. Once this has been selected, the '''type''' of shipment (supplier to warehouse, warehouse to warehouse or warehouse to customer) is locked and the shipment must be deleted to reset this.

The next step is to create the shipment parts. Some suppliers ship items in multiple parcels, or split the dispatch over several days. By doing so, it creates a stock management headache. Shipment parts offer a solution to that, by allowing mutiple parts to each of the shipment each with

		+	Once you have the shipment parts, you can add items to the shipment by searching for the product (only enabled items are searched - so you must enable the item first!), inputting the quantity, and it is recommended (unless you do this another way) to input the purchase price you paid for the item. If you are VAT registered, then it is recommended you use the ex VAT pricing as otherwise you will have to work out the details.
